Vietnam Holidays
Planning a trip to Vietnam? You should know that this country isn’t like most other Asian countries, as it’s unique in various aspects and if you want to get the most from your holiday in Vietnam, you need to know what to expect and how to adapt yourself to the local traditions and lifestyle best. In addition, of course, it’s important to know where to go to spend your time in the most productive way.
An odd way to start your holiday in Vietnam could be a visit to the water puppet show in Hanoi, at the Theatre Des Marionnettes Dur L’eau, close to the Hoan Kiem Lake. The art of water puppetry is an ancient one and you can get hours of delight watching the shows, though do not get carried away as there’s a lot more to see on your holiday in Vietnam!
There are many museums and other tourist locations related to the war here, such as the Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh City – a large building which now serves tourists with tours around it; in its basement, the South used to run their operations in secrecy during the war – and you can still see all their old equipment and various tools they used.
Another similar place is the Army Museum in Hanoi, which holds various exhibits from the war, such as B-52 and F-111 wrecks, as well as various other relics from the war. There are a large collection of items that are certainly worth checking out.
A more cultural site would be the temple in Ho Chi Minh City’s Chinatown. It’s certainly not the most impressive temples in Asia, but it’s a popular gathering location for the locals and you can always get a glimpse of the local life by paying it a visit.
