Taking your holiday in Costa Rica can be a very rewarding experience, and you should take up the opportunity to explore this great place if you still haven’t had the chance to! The best way to start your holiday in Costa Rica is, of course, a guided tour – and you can take up one of those to a variety of locations, such as the volcanoes of Irazu and Poas, the Braulio National Park, and of course the La Paz waterfall. There are many more places to see and explore as well, so don’t just limit yourself to what the tour guides have to offer!
If you’re feeling braver you can strap yourself inside a harness and glide down from the treetops of the jungle on a steel cable. These canopy tours are something everyone with the heart for it must try out, and even if you feel nauseous just looking at the cable, you should still give it a try as it’s both cheap as well as safe.
We mentioned the volcanoes of Costa Rica – Poas actually houses a national park, which is a very short distance from the capitol (San Jose). This may not be the most popular volcano among the ones around Costa Rica, but it’s the only one with a sulfur lake inside one of its craters. There’s pretty much no wildlife around the top due to the thick layer of ashes, which makes it very interesting scenery for snapping a few pictures of yourself.
And if you truly want to put your adventurer’s spirit to the test, try out some water rafting on the stream of the Costa River, though make sure you’re in good physical shape as the ride is bumpy and quite a bit dangerous, but it ends with you flowing straight into the Atlantic.
